BBC Audiobooks has just released a new range of classic audiobooks, Vintage Beeb. First available as BBC LPs , these titles are now published on CD for the first time ever. Enter our competition and win the whole set of six classic titles including Willo the Wisp and Fawlty Towers.

Each of the six CDs is presented with the original LP artwork and sleeve notes, with the discs themselves designed to resemble the original records. They are wonderful slices of nostalgia designed to recapture the golden age of vinyl.

The Vintage Beeb range consists of:


– Willo the Wisp (12 stories from the BBC TV series, narrated by Kenneth Williams)

– Unique Hancock (Highlights from the BBC’s memorable series ‘Hancock’s Half Hour’ by Ray Galton and
   Alan Simpson, originally broadcast in the Fifties.)

– Frankie Howerd: ‘Please Yourselves’ (Titter lots at Frankie Howerd’s ditties, sketches, limericks and stand up, recorded in front of a specially-invited audience.)

– The Best of Round the Horne (Two complete programmes compiled from the funniest excerpts of the first Radio Series broadcast in 1965, written by Barry Took and Marty Feldman.)

– Fawlty Towers (John Cleese, Prunella Scales, Connie Booth and Andrew Sachs star in two BBC TV episodes, “Mrs Richards” and “Hotel Inspectors”.)

– Fawlty Towers: The Second Sitting (Two further episodes from the superlative BBC television “The Rat” and “The Builders”, featuring additional linking narration by Andrew Sachs.)
