We meet the girls behind Jumble & Pearls

| March 31, 2009 | 1 Comment

Rummaging around the Jumble & Pearls vintage and designer sale is the perfect way to spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon. We’ve met up with the three girls behind the sale to chat about their favourite vintage finds and whether Jumble & Pearls might soon come to a pub near you.

The three girls behind Jumble & Pearls, Willow (pictured left), Rosalia (middle) and Jacquilina (right), have been brought together by their shared passion for vintage and their overflowing wardrobes. What started in October 2008 as a possible one-off event to free up more wardrobe space, has become a regular monthly jumble sale held on the first Saturday of each month at the Albert & Pearl pub in Islington.

Queens Of Vintage: So have you always loved vintage?

Jacquilina: My mum took me shopping in charity shops when I was a young. I’ve always loved thrifting cause it’s so affordable and such a great way of covering styles that are in fashion.

Rosalia: My parents hated vintage, I actually had to hide my thrift finds from them. I think they just couldn’t understand why I would want to wear someone’s old clothes when we had enough money to buy new things.
They’ve come around to it now though and even enjoy the odd trip to a charity shop!

Willow: Luckily my mom loved vintage so it’s always been part of my life.
