We chat vintage with a Forties and Fifties lover We first met Lisa Prest at our make-over stall at the Affordable Vintage Fashion Fair last month. A true vintage enthusiast, we couldn’t help but ask her a few nosey questions about her fabulous vintage wardrobe and her amazing Fifties hair. QueensOfVintage.com: Tell as a little about yourself Lisa Prest:At the moment I like in Stoke Newington, North London, it’s a fab little area but I’m hoping to move to Hackney soon. I work in an office, a very understanding office who pretty much let me wear what I want, which is great as it means I don’t need a separate ‘working wardobe’. QoV: Have you always been into vintage? And what attracted you to it? LP: I’ve been into vintage since I was a child. I remember getting my hands on my mothers old Sixties and Seventies pieces when I was just 11 years old and insisting on wearing them. Following that I had my rock chick and goth phases, I suppose I’ve always had the urge to dress differently. Vintagewise I’ve been gradually working my way backwards, from the Eighties to the Forties so far. QoV: Do you wear vintage everyday? LP: I wear vintage clothes and make up every day, or at least every day that I leave the house. On those occasional days where I get to lie abed all day i don’t wear anything, well maybe leopard print pyjamas. QoV: Where do you shop for clothes? LP: Mainly eBay to be honest, a little dip into Etsy and scouring charity and vintage shops. If its something special I’m after I might try a more specialist vintage shop such as Paper Dress in Shoreditch or Strut in Stoke Newington.
