We chat vintage hair with Pimps & Pinups Wouldn’t it be nice to get your hair cut at a salon that’s not just another soulless branch of a hairdressing chain? Well, we might have found just the right place for you. QueensOfVintage.com has met up with Simon Charrison, Creative Director of London and New York based hair salon Pimps & Pinups, which stands out with its glamorous Fifties interior design. Pimps & Pinups looks fabulous with its glam Hollywood mirrors and barber chairs. How did you come up with the concept? Simon (pictured right): I was just so bored of working at chain hair salons, which all looked the same. I wanted to open an independent boutique salon that was retro and modern at the same time. I’m really into Fifties style such as cars, tattoos and rock’n’roll, which has definitely influenced the concept.
