We’re introducing a new series on vintage-loving couples, meet our Vintage Twosomes. First up are Laurence and Sylvain, a Fifties-mad pair from France.

“My name is Laurence and my husband is Sylvain. We are a married French couple and have been in love with vintage for more than 10 years. Our favorite era is the Forties and Fifties.
We live in France, really close to Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Our favorite hobby is going to flea markets to hunt for vintage treasures.

We live in a vintage world every day: wearing vintage clothes, driving vintage cars, listening to 45 rpm with our Fifties juke-box and living in a vintage home.

Our home is an early Sixties house furnished exclusively with Fifties furniture and appliances. But of course we have a modern TV, washing machine and internet but we hide them when not used in order to make it look like we are back in time.

We also drive vintage cars. My husband has three cars of the Fifties:  a ’59 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, a ’59 Buick Electra 225 and a ’58 Lincoln Mark III convertible. My personnal vintage car is a blue and white 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe, I love its colour, and it is easy to drive for a girl because of rare original options : automatic transmission, power stearing and power wheels.
