Vintage shopping guide to Tel Aviv

2. HaMachteret (The Underground)

8 Almonit Alley Tel 03- 6202413
Opened daily 10AM to 8PM
Fridays 10AM to 3PM

This shop has a mention in Lonely Planet and it’s less than a five minute walk away from Ahava LeShniah. Another large store, it sources most of it’s stuff from Europe, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some stuff from their shop on E-Bay before there.

I love their shirts and tops and this is the place for 1960′s and 1970′s fashion. Sometimes a 1950′s gem can be found but they seem to be drawn to the mod and hippy look.

They were recently at the Lima Lima vintage sale and I got a fabulous dress for 10 NIS (£2).

[...] if you’re living in Tel Aviv, like me, you can hit up a slew of shops like HaMachteret (The Underground) for hyper color vintage frocks from the 60s and 70s or Shtaim (Two) for great pieces from Europe. [...]
