We love how perfectly our Vintage Queen no 102 is capturing the glamour and elegance of the Twenties, Thirties and Forties. Without much further ado – meet the lovely Ines from Lisbon.

My name is Ines, and I’m from Portugal, a small country sitting by the sea. I live in the capital, the crazy Lisbon. Portugal is a very old country, and in Lisbon you can really taste that. The old buildings and railways, the churches, the old ways, the infinite archaeological sites and so on.

I’ve loved all things old ever since I can remember. When I was young, I didn’t even know the term ‘vintage’, but I knew I loved everything that was old, and maybe because of that, I always told everyone that I wanted to be an archaeologist, which is what I am now.

The love for vintage fashion, and especially the Twenties, Thirties and Forties, I’ve had for about four years now, I started to become more and more interested in these eras. I love all the sparkle, mysteriousness and craziness of the Twenties, even though I don’t dress up like this too much (I’m a bit lazy to do fingerwaves, but I love them to DEATH! and I love the makeup);

I love the Thirties, here in Portugal it was the golden era for the cinema, and I love the Forties, for the fashion mostly. These two decades are the ones I dress like the most! I think my style is simple and appropriate for the daily craziness as well as for party nights. I love hats, scarfs, turbans, shoes and dresses.

I’ve always loved makeup. Being a vintage lover, the interest in this area came almost naturally, which eventually led me to become a makeup artist. I own a vintage fashion and beauty blog called The Perfect Drug (I’m a gal that loves the past, but I live in the present, so I really like some of today’s musical groups, such as Nine Inch Nails, who are the reason I got this name for my blog).

I write mostly about makeup, vintage makeup and today’s, with a lot of reviews and tricks. I also like to talk about vintage fashion and show and write about my own clothes and outfits. I also try to show my readers some of today’s fashion that has a vintage feel to it, because it’s an interesting alternative to real vintage pieces that are usually quite hard to come by, not to mention pricier…

I love to travel, meet new people, go to the cinema and watch old movies, shopping at the flea markets, art in general and I love my little bunny, Tozé!
