Meet fabulous Vintage Queen no 156, the beautiful Cindy Lu from California. The reigning Miss Art Deco, she has an incredible wardrobe of early 20th Century vintage.

“My name is Cindy Lu and reside in Sunnyvale, CA. I’m a high-tech marketing maven in the Silicon Valley by day but I also moonlight as a performer focusing on vintage styles of dance. I’m a dancer in an Art Deco vintage dance troupe, “The DecoBelles“.

I’m also the reigning “Miss Art Deco” of the Art Deco Preservation Society of California, which is a Bathing Beauties style pageant where “Miss Art Deco” is selected based on her volunteer work towards Art Deco Preservation.

I love fashion and history, particularly, the Art Deco Era and Victoria Era. (I’m also in a traditional French Cancan dance troupe, Le Cancan Bijou, that specializes in the 1850s style of the French Cancan.

Dancing and vintage fashion was just a natural extension and way of expressing my love of history and I have slowly built up my vintage wardrobe. My vintage wardrobe ranges from the Twenties- Fifties, including both vintage and reproduction pieces.

At the office, I typically dress Forties to Fifties styled with a “vintage” twist. My style icons are Josephine Baker, Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Grace Kelly.”
