Meet amazing Vintage Queen no 146, the gorgeous JoAnne from Australia. She has an enviable collection of frocks, including a fab yellow Sixties dress inherited from her mom.

“My name is JoAnne, I’m 42 and I live in Australia. I have been married to my gorgeous man for 20 years this February, and sometimes just sometimes I get him into a saucy vintage suit or outfit. I have always collected, well hoarded, anything that took my fancy from vintage to retro and back again.

As a little girl I dreamt of being a model- something that would only have happened over my dad’s dead body- so I have enjoyed the dress up at home and to events but over the last year or so I have been lucky enough to have had the chance to do a few tiny little vintage-inspired model shoots and it has been a blast, it’s never too late to have fun!

I love to wear vintage dresses when I have big events to attend like awards nights, weddings and the likes. Recently my job position changed and for the first time in 21 years I have had to really look at what I’d like to do with my life. My husband jokingly says “You know we live in a three bedroom home, not a two bedroom with a walk-in-robe.”

So I have started to bring my collection out for everyone to see and have started to enjoy it more myself. You can’t image the people who stop you to ask about the dress or outfit. Young and old, those who would have worn it and those who would die for it.

Hubby has also encourage me to chase my love of vintage, photography and creating by thinking of our home as a giant vault of treasures to share. I am now about to launch my online Etsy store of vintage finds, treasures and creations as I love making jewellery out of found objects.”

JoAnne is truly gorgeous and has one of the best collections I’ve seen, which is to say, exactly the styles that I am always looking for.
