Irene Dunne played Lavinia Day in this cheeky comedy alongside Elizabeth Taylor and William Powell. Set in the 1800s, the film unpicks traditional notions of Victorian family life with a host of troublesome red-headed children, an eccentric husband and a strong-minded wife.
