Vintage holiday: be a hep cat this spring If you’re into swing, love vintage weekenders and are in need of a break to escape the winter gloom, then get booking. Hep Cats’ Holiday is a twice-yearly UK vintage weekend with a great line-up of bands, dancing teachers at hand and plenty more. There are still some places left for their spring event in March, so go on, be a hep cat! Hep Cats’ founders Robert and Claire Austin – former UK lindy hop champions and London-based dance teachers – have put together an amazing line-up of live bands, a fabulous vintage market and many more retro attractions for the swinging weekend, which is taking place at Pontin’s Pakefield Holiday Park in Lowestoft 12- 15 March 2010. For those new to swing dancing, Robert and Claire will be on hand with lessons and step-by-step guides so that even lindy hop novices will be able to take the dancefloor by storm. Dress themes include ‘Speakeasy’ (think flapper, molls and dolls) and ‘nautical’ (sailorettes at the ready), but quite frankly, who needs an excuse to get glammed up anyways?
