Vintage clothes shopping in Adelaide Move over Melbourne, there’s another Aussie hot-spot for vintage fashion-lovers further up the coast! Boasting a colourful vintage fashion scene, Adelaide has some fantastic vintage clothes shops scattered around the city offering glamorous delights from bygone eras. And here to open a few of Adelaide’s vintage treasure chests, Andie Taylor shares her top five vintage stores. Hero Vintage – 5 Ebenezer Place Adelaide Located in the east end of Adelaide, Hero Vintage offers a selection of beautiful dresses, dating from the Forties up to the Eighties as well as great accessories, including an extensive range of vintage hats. Each piece is handpicked for great quality and each oozes with old-style glamour and elegance. Red Ruby Vintage – 14 Peel Street Adelaide Red Ruby is situated just off Hindley St, towards the west end of Adelaide. The main focus of the stock is on a wonderful selection of vintage dresses, from the Thirties to the Eighties, and there’s also a small but lovely selection of accessories and other women’s clothing items. There are also some fantastic hand-made dresses, made by the shop-owner from vintage patterns and fabrics she has collected. Reply beata October 27th, 2009 There’s a great one on Frome Rd too, but for TRUE vintage style in Adelaide head to Gilles Street Markets http://www.gillesstreetmarket.com.au/. Some seriously awesome stuff there, makes me feel like I’m in another world… sigh Reply Bridgette January 20th, 2010 Great locations but I happen to know you have missed one of the best – and more affordable -vintage funky fashion stores in Adelaide! Nadia’s House of Serendipity is at Shop 2 of 4 Partridge St in the hub of Glenelg. It stocks all kinds of quirky, retro fashion, acessories and collectables with items dating back to 1930’s right up to modern day. The store also buys stock from general public. Most definately worth a peruse! Reply Lucille March 1st, 2010 woah anne. u must have come at the wrong time of year. Come around feb march time and there are so many people in adelaide.
