The Vintage Librarian reviews: How to Dress for Success One of Hollywood’s most famous costume designers, Edith Head dressed stars such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn and won eight Academy Awards for her designs. The V&A , London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, has now republished her style bible How to Dress for Success. In her book, Edith offers no-nonsense, and often hilarious fashion advice straight from the Sixties. There is still much to learn today from Head’s witty style tips and delightful drawings. So whether you would like to look younger, prettier, slimmer, attract a new man or hold on to the current one or even get a better job, Edith has all the advice you need. Some of her advice sounds hilarious from todays’ perspective, especially when it comes to dating, however a lot of her tips – especially on what shapes are flattering to different figures – are still as relevant as ever. For more information see the V&A shop. 2 Responses Dolly Dahl March 23rd, 2009 ooh I have the original book and it’s wonderful! kevie April 7th, 2010 Me too, the original.
