Marilyn Monroe often went for nearly bare-faced, natural make-up in her private life. Her professional make-up, the one she wore to film premiers and in front of the camera was ultra glamorous.
Here, make-up guru Lise Eldridge shares a fantastic video on how to create Marilyn’s mid-Fifties glamour look. Full of great make-up technique tips and anecdotes about Fifties make-up, this is one video well worth watching. Head over to YouTube to see Lisa’s full list of make-up products used.

I never did like Marilyn’s “white on white” look that she had towards the end of her life. It made her look clownish.

In some of her films, the pencil lining of her her eyes, as shown in the video, was quite visible. It looked very un-natural & distracting.

    Great video!

Wonderful video, I’m going to try it tonight before going out! I love that eyelash shadow trick under the eye, but I’m sure it’s a fine line between subtlety and looking like costume makeup. Thanks for sharing!
