Yes, we went out there and shopped our little cotton socks off, all so we can bring you the best vintage shops from around the world. This time Jessica Luper delves deep into London’s East End.

Absolute Vintage
Hanbury Street, E1

This is a shop not for the faint of heart – step inside the door and you’ll see why. Accessory heaven, the sheer volume of shoes here is enough to send the most discerning vintage princess into panicky child-in-a-sweetshop mode.

Choose a route and you’ll discover rows and rows of scuffed-to-perfection heels and boots in candy colours, battered leather clutch bags squashed haphazardly into boxes and a small but-well chosen collection of 80s sailor dresses, fluffy pearl-adorned cardigans and retro tennis dresses.

The owners know their audience too; there’s a seating area where you can take a breather while you peruse old copies of Vogue and The Face; also handy for depositing bored boyfriends.

Howdy-fab site esp the vintage by decade bit. But a mention for my little vintage boutique Paper Dress on Curtain rd would be much appreciated!-we are having an Easter bunny hunt party on the 8th, with freebies, discounts, booze, dj and burlesque if that can tempt ya…?
