Top New York vintage shopping tips with It’s Vintage Darling Rachael, founder of fab online vintage shop It’s Vintage Darling, travels the world to buy the best vintage goods for her store. Even at minus seven she will go through the rain and snow to hunt down that perfect dress. Her last trip took her to New York, and luckily for us she’s sharing some of her NYC vintage shopping tips with us. On our recent New York trip, our first stop was Beacons Closet in Williamsburg, one of their two Brooklyn shops. The shop was packed floor to sealing with original vintage, second-hand designer and high street brands. It’s definitely one of those places where you can enjoy rooting thought the rails to find a gem. We picked up this super cool Sixties green mini and an Eighties oversized clutch, but our winners were an original Sixties tonal brown ‘Bloomingdales’ beaded handbag which was the perfect find from New York and this stunning lilac Sixties dress which we thought was very ‘Sex and the city’. There’s a great shop on Avenue B and 11th street as well as a big handful on 6th and 7th between Avenue A and 2nd Avenue. Also the best vintage in the whole city (with pretty much the best prices) is at The Family Jewels on 23rd between 6th and 7th Avenue. Next time stop there for sure!!
