Make do and mend a Givenchy-inspired necklace

QoV: Do you have to be very crafty and skilled or are there simple things you
can make yourself that don’t need lots of needle skills?
Outi: Anyone can do crafts! All you need is enthusiasm and curiosity, just go for it, even if you don’t have a sewing machine or don’t know how to knit (I don’t..). The internet is filled with crafty and easy one-afternoon projects to get you started.
QoV: How did you make your amazing Givenchy necklace?
Outi: I love metallic necklaces and chains, I have so many of them. When I saw the Givenchy FW08 collection, I just knew they had to be worn all at once. I attached some metal knick knacks with small metal jewelry hoops to add more details. The necklaces are not attached to each other so I can wear them the Givenchy-way and separately
QoV: What sort of new projects have you got lined up?
Outi: I make custom orders on my zipper necklaces, I have two in progress at the moment. I’m also working on the January-March issues of MissMix, a Finnish teen magazine I write a trashion column for. Last but not least, I’ve wanted to write my own trashion how-to book for two years now. As soon as I find a publisher, it will be my number one project!
