Stop shopping – Make Do and Mend instead

Wardrobe full of clothes, but nothing to wear? Come and learn how to customise and transform tired items of clothing or new but not-quite-right vintage finds with stylist Hannah J at a Make Do and Mend Workshop in London next week.
In step with Vivienne Westwood’s call to ‘stop shopping‘ the workshop aims to revitalise your wardrobe by transforming your tired-looking clothes into 2010’s hottest new trends. Just bring along three items of clothing and give them a new lease of life with their handy tips. Buyers remorse will be a thing of the past – just check out this H&M shirt dress (pictured left) which was given a Forties twist with faux fur.
The menu for the evening will be:
Starters
Learn the top tips to recycle fashion from our ethical checklist including ways to customise and revive last season’s garments by using buttons, detailing, accessories etc
Mains
Discover a stylist perspective on alternative ideas on how to find new uses for garments, for example you can turn a shirt into a dress etc
Dessert
Implement your new knowledge to revive your three items of clothing, the team will be on hand to answer any queries and assist with the ideas.
The evening is £25 including yummy homemade cakes and unlimited tea. Places are limited, so buy your ticket to reserve your space!
