heartLondon based photographer Julia Boggio found herself looking at pictures of women from the Forties and Fifties and wondered:  “How in the world did they have time to look like that every day?” Her deep fascination with design, fashion and styling from the era has led her to explore the wonderful world of pin-up photography.

Earlier this year Julia launched her Vintage Boudoir experience – a pin-up photo shoot – which has been created to give women that glamorous Forties feeling without the need of a time machine. Her team of hair and make-up professionals will create the classic pin-up look for wanna-be Vargas girls while Julia will help to get the right expressions and poses.

As Julia explains her passion for the pin-up style: “Pin-up is so much more erotic than a lot of modern boudoir, which often shows too much. Pin-up is all about tantalising the viewer with what’s being covered up, but saying ‘I’m cheeky and sexy’ in the expression.”

Embracing your curves and femininity can be a powerful experience, whether you want to surprise your partner with a saucy Valentine’s gift or are doing it for yourself.
