This colourful boutique has its heart stuck in the Fifties, and the mother and daughter team who run it are keen to convert you. “We just think it’s so nice to see a lady dressing like a lady,” says daughter Scarlett. The shop is full to the brim with feminine wiggle dresses, pencil skirts and frothy prom dresses, for an authentic retro glamour feel. The shop also stocks vintage-inspired clothing from sought after brands such as Vivienne of Holloway, Tara Scarlet and Katie’s Corsetry.

As well as the shop’s boutique, there is also a mini beauty parlour where the girls will perfect your Fifties hair and make-up. “We love giving people the full-on treatment – the look isn’t complete without red lips and pin curls!” says mum Chloe.

OakfordVintage Fair, The Oakford Social Club

On the last Sunday of every month a variety of vintage clothing and craft stalls can be found at The Oakford Social Club. This is a unique event that allows you to trawl through rails of established vintage sellers as well as local vintage enthusiasts clearing out their well-stocked wardrobes. Vintage clothing, shoes, and crafts including knitted items and local artwork are all in abundance, and once you’re done with the stalls, you can sit back and relax on the club’s mismatched vintage furniture and enjoy a continental beer or two.
