Vintage pieces are so much more than pretty items, not only are they the antithesis to mass production but they have a history – and often a quality that is rare to find in modern designs. Amazing vintage fashion and jewellery shop Sassy & Boo has picked out four exclusive vintage pieces – from a bracelet to a perfume bottle – just for us. Best of all, they each have a fascinating story behind them.

Gold Knot Necklace £70
This gorgeous gold-knot necklace is produced by the German jewellery company Henkel & Grosse. The name might not mean much to some but the Grosse trademark stands for a top-notch costume jeweller that has been in business since 1938. Grosse has produced jewellery for Christian Dior for over five decades, as well as other fashion houses such as Burberry.

Wide Gold Cuff Bracelet £60
The former owner of this decorative cuff bracelet was an avid fashion enthusiast. Each day she would create a new style for herself and then snap her total look in a local photo-booth. Over the years her collection of clothes and accessories (& photographs) grew to epic proportions so she had a good clear out and auctioned-off many pieces while the remainder was donated to final year fashion students.

50s – 60s Alligator Handbag £120
Vintage alligator and crocodile skin bags have seen a resurgence in popularity of late. This chocolate brown alligator day bag is a classic example; it belonged to a former Hollywood stylist and has been kept in fantastic condition.

Guerlain perfume bottle (Vintage bottles start from £45)
The so called “bee bottle”, this was Guerlain’s first commercial perfume bottle. Covered with a pattern of bees it was originally used for the Eau de Cologne Imperiale, created for the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III. There is no doubt that this decorative bottle has prettied-up somebody’s dressing table over the years.
