Designer Emma Embery picks her favourite fashion pieces
‘Garbo Top’
True vintage! I have always been influened by the Twenties and Forties style. I wanted to construct a garment with that feel but within a contempory shape. With the flapper style in mind, I’ve used pearls for the embellishment detail on the neckline combined with cornelli vintage lace.
‘Camilla Dress’
I’ve always loved beautiful feminine fabrics, mixing chiffons and silks. Neutral colours have such a timeless look. This dress has been inspired by many eras with a Twenties and Forties feel mixed with the Grecian detail on the pleated front. The neckline detail is Victorian lace. The dress is one size, the sash can be worn wrapped around it to suit your figure. All the embellishment is hand-embroidered and appliqued onto the sash and neckline combining vintage lace.
‘Garters’
Each garter is individual in design and embellishment. I’ve used vintage lace mixed with sourced beads and pendants from all over the world, whether its flea markets or antique stores. I thought that when getting married, a bride wants to feel special, beautiful and unique. Having a bespoke garter adds that extra special touch and will be a keepsake for years to come.
