Blossoming vintage florals

BVS_EtsyRoseJacketI’m proud to admit that much of my wardrobe has a story behind it; it is not bursting with expensive designer pieces, neither does it represent carefully selected high-street finds. Instead, I can only describe it as a mini scrapbook of my heritage – my Grandmother’s buckled ruby red shoes, her cape coat – altered slightly-and plenty of vintage floral dresses.

If I wanted to, I am sure I could save up the pennies for that Dries Van Noten collection, well the pencil skirt at least, with its beautiful, graphic floral prints with immaculate tailoring. However, I feel a million dollars wearing pieces that represent me: my life, my floral obsession.

BVS_NatashaBailieDressVintage floral pieces can be loved forever, passed from generation to generation and work beautifully with the current trend. Floral prints will be admired for years to come, and I doubt my fascination will lessen, yet while they stay ‘on trend’, the modern digitalised prints initially appear more accessible.

Vintage floral prints are without doubt more difficult to find but they unquestionably symbolise the true floral print, with plenty of class and even more style.
