Are you into kitsch? Well, American songwriter Allee Willis, who penned the Friends theme tune for example, certainly is. She has turned her 1937 LA house into a shrine to all things kitsch, sentimental and over-the-top. Luckily for us we can now admire her treasures online as her virtual ‘Allee Willis’ Museum of Kitsch’ has just opened to the public. Willis has been collecting kitsch since 1969. Her impressive collection ranges from a Michael Jackson beverage cooler, to toilet radios, to a wrapper of a loaf of The Supremes bread. All of Allee’s treasures can now be viewed in her virtual museum. Other kitsch lovers out there can even submit pictures of their own items and contribute to the museum’s “kitschenette” wing. picture: Kiino Villand Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
