Anjou Vélo Vintage: join one of the world’s biggest vintage bike rides this summer Retro bike riders and vintage fashion lovers – head to France this summer for the annual Anjou Vélo Vintage (22nd – 23rd June 2013), one of the world’s largest vintage bike rides. Last year, the event attracted more than 1400 participants from all around the world and 10 000 visitors to the retro village in Saumur near the west coast of France. The weekend will kick off with a celebration of the Tour de France’s 100th edition: “The Rétro 1903, the legendary champions’ step” featuring many champions and biking personalities. The next day, retro fashion addicts and vintage bicycles enthusiasts will cycle off from Saumur to discover three new routes all set picturesquely between the Loire river, castles and vineyards. Over the weekend, many mini events and shows will take place in the vintage village from old bicycle exhibitions, bric-à-brac stalls, vintage shop, retro bistros, swing and jazz parties and the unmissable concours d’élégance fashion catwalk.
